GRIT on Home Processing
Our friends at GRIT Magazine in Topeka Kansas wanted a first hand experience of backyard poultry processing and we were glad to oblige. Editor-in-Chief Hank Will reports here of his experience with 40 broilers from kill to chill. Well written, photo-graphed – even with a dandy little video using the Featherman kill stand, scalder and Featherman Pro plucker. Will favors home processing for food safety and knowing how your birds are raised and treated. And he recommends “finding high quality tools to help.”

GRIT on Poultry Processing
Caleb Regan, GRIT Managing Editor, on his experience processing chickens with friends. Caleb mans the kill stand station and gives some thoughtful commentary. And another glowing testimonial, “the Featherman plucker performed wonderfully.” Again, nice photos and video.

GRIT Processing Broiler Chickens
A day of home processing Cornish cross broilers is a great success. The poultry processing demonstration by Joel Salatin and David Schafer made an encouraging and lasting impression. “The Featherman drum plucker is nothing short of phenomenal.”
